What Will I Learn in 12 Weeks at the UT Culinary & Catering Program?

If you’re interested in obtaining your culinary arts and/or culinary business management certification, but are not interested in participating in a lengthy program with specific general education requirements for an associate’s or bachelor’s degree, there are other options available.

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville offers a culinary program that packs 400 hours of culinary training into just 12 weeks. This program is designed so you can spend less time in the classroom and more time investing in a career you love. As you work toward obtaining your culinary certificate, you will learn the fundamentals of cooking and food business management, including:

The UT Culinary & Catering Program offers a unique culinary experience where students can learn from some of the area’s best chefs, practice foodservice in a hands-on environment, and challenge themselves with live catering events and mystery basket competitions.

At the end of the 12 weeks, students are evaluated by Chef Greg Eisele and the best are recommended jobs in high-end food establishments. If you’re interested in opening your own restaurant, catering business, or even a food truck, you may be interested in the mentoring network that is available through partner chefs and past graduates.
